Be Seen. Be Heard. Be Healed.
One of the greatest measures of client trust is when you're asked back to partner on the next strategic campaign. TriHealth, a healthcare system based in Cincinnati, and their agency Brandience did just that when they asked Green Blanket to produce their Be Seen. Be Heard. Be Healed campaign, our second engagement in as many years. And this time, asking our very own Karmen Dann to direct. With revenue > $2.5B annually, 14,000+ team members, and more than 130 clinical locations, TriHealth's range of services is broad, and communicating so many capabilities across so many patient phases of life's journey is just the type of challenge that we like to take on!

Progress Owes No Apology
In the summer of 2020, Root Insurance, a Columbus-based insurtech company, had a marketing challenge. Root was preparing to go public that fall in what would become Ohio's largest IPO, and needed to stand out in a crowded national media cycle heading into a presidential election. Root had identified NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace as the right brand partner for the moment and signed him over the summer, leaving a very tight timeline ahead of the fall IPO. Root engaged Green Blanket, who was up for the challenge that Root’s Chief Communications Officer, Kelly Ruoff described as: " This project demanded more than production expertise. It required a partner willing to engage in open, thoughtful, hard conversations about equality, fairness, representation, and progress. Green Blanket was that partner from day one. They helped us protect the integrity of the message, find the right talent in front of and behind the camera, and work through challenging shooting conditions .” Given the pace of the work, Green Blanket integrated directly with Root's brand leadership team as a Creative Production Partner. Working hand in hand from strategy through delivery, Green Blanket accelerated the process while protecting the creative intent, bringing in trusted partners where needed across concept development, creative brief, director selection, writing, production planning, and execution. From the first flight to meet Bubba in July through the production wrap in September, Green Blanket was there to ensure the right client outcome for Root. The ads launched on October 22, 2020, as Root's first national athletic sponsorship and its first move into sports marketing. It ran nationally in long and short form, took over Times Square, and drew coverage from Adweek , Fast Company , and Muse by Clios . Results quantified:

Join the Run '26
Green Blanket was in full sprint mode this March, racing around California and Texas shooting content for DICK'S Sporting Goods in support of National Runners Month in May. Featuring photographers Carlos Gil in San Diego and Matt Hawthorne in Austin, with director of photography Cade Vlacos covering video in both cities, Green Blanket took on several unique challenges with the project. First, and our specialty at Green Blanket, was the Real People casting, done in-house. For this series we needed the unique spirit of each city authentically captured on camera, so we cast through the local run clubs, auditioning 500 performance athletes to find the very best runners who truly represented their cities.

Bat Lab Baseball
Bat Lab baseball wasn't new. GameChanger, Sports Experience Advisors, and Dick's Sporting Goods had been doing it. What was new was us. Bat Lab already had an audience. Players already knew what it was. Our job was to take something established and make it look like nothing it had looked like before. The location SEA provided - sure didn’t hurt!

Yard Sale
I am pumped to have the opportunity to premier our little short film Yard Sale at IFF Boston next month! So many of GB’s friends have reached out to ask what the film is about or how to watch it. We are keeping it private until the festival run is done so I don’t risk disqualifying it or messing with premiere eligibility - but I promise you’ll see it as soon as I can share it. In the meantime…… Take a look at our recent flipbook to learn more about the project and what excited me most about it!

Bat Lab Softball
This past fall we joined GameChanger, Sports Experience Advisors, and Dick's Sporting Goods at an event like nothing we have experienced: The first ever BAT LAB just for Softball. A lineup stacked with high school, college, and pro softball players took to the field at Devon Park in Oklahoma City to test 9 of the top softball bats. We brought Director JJ Miller to the plate. 7 Cameras. 2 Days. We filmed it all. We went in with a plan and cut 2 long form, 9 episodes, a trailer, and a teaser. The episodes are trickling out this spring but in the meantime, check out the trailer and teaser below (if you didn't already catch it on streaming and social). Beyond an awesome crew and event, we were blown away by the pure skill, professionalism, and personality possessed by each player. Take a look at the videos and you will see what we mean. Also - don’t we just love women with women in sports? What should we shoot next?

Girls Girls Girls
Eight years ago, Green Blanket (GB) started organically and out of necessity. At 33, I was working in the Ohio market and getting tapped to wear more and more hats on a single production. I was essentially owning the entire process for in-house teams. Outside of Ohio, I was known as a producer for other companies, branded docs, and short films. It was happening on its own, I just hadn't put a name on it yet. One day, DSW just said, "Hey, can you do the whole thing? Our fall campaign in New York." I knew I had it. I sat down, filed the LLC, and Green Blanket was born. (I’ll tell you where the name Green Blanket came from another time.) I spent the first several years of this business worrying about the perception others had of me - not just clients, but peers. I have never been one to posture or care about the personal opinions people carry of me, but GB was different. This was my business; it was something I believed in. I found myself feeling insecure when I had no business being so. I wondered: Am I too young? Do I need a male partner? Will anyone take GB seriously without some men in the room? While I was navigating those thoughts, I stayed focused on the work. I wanted to bring great production to clients and crews, productions that prioritized the team, the client, and the creative, handled with integrity and without greed. I wanted professional sets and assets that everyone involved would be proud of. cont after photo dump

WBENC Certified
Green Blanket is Now a Certified Women's Business Enterprise Green Blanket is proud to announce that we are now officially certified by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the most widely recognized diversity certification for women-owned businesses in the United States. WBENC certification validates that Green Blanket is 100% woman-owned, operated, and managed. The process is a rigorous, months-long audit of the company's financials, governance, and daily operations. It confirms that the business is not only owned by a woman but actively led and directed by its owner. Passing this process is a testament to the internal discipline we've maintained since our founding. We treat our business infrastructure with the same rigor we bring to our creative work. Our house is in order, and this certification makes it official. National Scale & Strategy Green Blanket is a national creative production house specializing in commercial production, creative direction, Real People casting, and post-production. We've produced work for major national brands across healthcare, insurance, retail, and consumer products, combining cinematic storytelling with the operational discipline that national campaigns require. For our corporate and agency partners, this certification means that production spend with Green Blanket now counts toward supplier diversity goals. For us, it's what we've been building toward since day one. "Eight years later, and I've finally stopped waiting for permission to be proud of what I built," said Founder Karmen Dann. "This certification is for the clients who trusted the talent before the paperwork was ready, and for every woman currently grinding to find her own voice in this industry." Green Blanket is based in Columbus, Ohio, and operates nationally. For more information, visit greenblanket.tv .

Snow Day
I LOVE SNOW but I love snow days even more! The entire day just at the mercy of this white powder falling from the sky! This week, everyone from Al Roker to Jim Cantore was freaking out about the storm we are currently experiencing in half the country. I made it out just in time for a shoot in Miami this week. And I am bummed to be missing the level 3 snow emergency happening back home. Check out my instagram if you want to follow along in my overall sadness / watch as I share the midwest family videos I am receiving to rub it in my face. But with the Pre-Pro Book in the bag and crew ready for an awesome tech scout tomorrow - I thought this would be the perfect time to share one of my favorite snow days of all time. A one day shoot in Kananaskis Country, one hour from Banff we shot this campaign for The North Face & Dick’s Sporting Goods. We shot this a couple months ago and excited to see it now circulating.
